Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Vulnerability Management Specialist to join a high-performing Security Operations Centre supporting mission-critical national security environments.

You will be responsible for managing and enhancing the end-to-end Vulnerability Management function across multiple secure systems and technology platforms. Working closely with cyber security professionals, engineers and operational stakeholders, you will drive vulnerability assessment, prioritisation, remediation tracking and risk management activities.

This position offers the opportunity to work within a mature cyber security capability, supporting highly secure environments while contributing to the ongoing improvement of security processes, technologies and governance frameworks.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the full Vulnerability Management lifecycle.
• Monitor, assess and prioritise vulnerabilities across enterprise environments.
• Provide risk-based recommendations and remediation guidance to stakeholders.
• Act as the primary point of contact for Vulnerability Management enquiries and escalations.
• Track vulnerability remediation activities and ensure compliance with agreed service levels.
• Develop and maintain Vulnerability Management reporting, metrics and dashboards.
• Conduct risk assessments and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with Security Operations, Engineering and Infrastructure teams to improve security outcomes.
• Support the deployment, testing and validation of Vulnerability Management tooling.
• Drive continual improvement initiatives to enhance operational maturity and effectiveness.

Education / Certifications Required

Relevant qualifications in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline are highly regarded.

Industry certifications such as the following will be advantageous:

• CISSP
• Security+
• GIAC Certifications
• Azure Security Certifications
• AWS Security Certifications
• Tenable, Qualys or equivalent security platform certifications

Knowledge / Skills Required

• Demonstrated experience within Vulnerability Management, Security Operations or Cyber Security environments.
• Experience working with enterprise Vulnerability Management platforms and associated cloud security tooling.
• Strong understanding of vulnerability assessment, remediation workflows and risk management practices.
• Experience improving Vulnerability Management processes, governance frameworks and SLA performance.
• Knowledge of enterprise technologies across infrastructure, cloud and security domains.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to articulate technical risks to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Understanding of broader cyber security functions including:
  • Cyber Threat Intelligence
  • Threat Detection and Monitoring
  • Detection Engineering
  • Incident Response
  • Security Operations
• Ability to assess and communicate risk under tight timeframes and with incomplete information.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and collaboration skills.
