Summary:

The Ward Clerk provides clerical support and assistance to Nursing Department.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in Nursing Environment.
  • 1-2 years office experience.

Job Functions:

  • Responsible for providing secretarial support for all employees within an assigned nursing unit.
  • Maintains and updates patients' records for a given unit.
  • Communicates with Doctors, families, and residents in a professional manner.
  • Accurately file resident records in their charts.
  • Assist the nursing team in documentation.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members.
  • Must be organized and can follow directions.
  • Ability to be patient and polite.
  • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
