Summary
Warehouse operator handles receiving, storing, and shipping goods, operates forklifts and cranes, maintains inventory, and ensures workplace safety in a manufacturing facility.
General Responsibilities: Report directly to Warehouse Manager and indirectly to the Production Manager. The Warehouse Operator is responsible for organizing and rearranging items and materials neatly in respective places in the warehouse. Ensure compliance of safety procedures and practices. The prime responsibilities of this position are to provide support by picking, loading, shipping, unloading, and putting away warehouse products. Responsible for operating material handling equipment, optimizing travel, and loading for efficient logistics and supporting other warehouse functions to ensure optimal operation of the business.
Essential Job Functions:
- Operate forklift - sit down, side reach truck, and overhead crane.
- Perform cycle counts as required
- Pick, wrap and stage orders to be shipped
- Safety inspection of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Identify safety hazards in the workplace.
- Consolidate partial pallets for incoming goods.
- Load and unload trucks in a safe manner.
- Identify damage and missing material.
- Efficiently and safely operate a lift truck
- Maintain accurate inventory daily, weekly, and monthly and enter into shipping database
- Maintain clean, safe working environment at all times
- Train new and current employees on forklift and warehouse operation
- Work and communicate with interdepartmental personnel and management as necessary in a professional manner
- Adhere to all plant and departmental rules, policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
