Job Summary
The Warehouse Assistant Manager supports in overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, proper storage, timely order fulfilment, and a safe and organised working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing and dispatching goods.
Supervise and coordinate warehouse staff and allocate daily work duties.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate stock records.
Conduct regular stock checks and assist with stocktaking and reconciliation.
Ensure goods are properly labelled, stored and handled to prevent damage or loss.
Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with suppliers, customers, transporters and internal departments.
Check delivery orders, packing lists and other warehouse documentation for accuracy.
Ensure the warehouse is clean, organised and complies with company safety procedures.
Monitor loading and unloading activities and ensure proper handling of goods.
Train and guide warehouse staff on proper work procedures and safety practices.
Report stock discrepancies, damaged goods, operational issues and other irregularities to management.
Assist with warehouse manpower planning, scheduling and daily operations.
Perform other warehouse-related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Relevant warehouse or logistics experience.
Previous supervisory or team-leading experience preferred.
Good knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control.
Able to communicate effectively and work well with a team.
Responsible, organised and able to work independently.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel or warehouse/inventory systems.
Forklift or relevant equipment-handling experience will be an advantage.
