Warehouse assistant
The final outcome is for the employee to be able to demonstrates practical competency in core inventory-management activities and can reliably support warehouse operations with minimal supervision.
Specific Responsibilities
Employee will be incharge in the warehouse operation. Day to day activity including incoming and outgoing stock, weekly stock take.
Technical Skills and Competencies
a) Understand the purpose and importance of inventory control and how inventory moves through the warehouse.
b) Correctly identify, classify and locate warehouse items.
c) Accurately check and record incoming inventory
d) Store inventory in the correct location while maintaining accurate location records.
e) Perform physical stock counts accurately and identify discrepancies.
f) Develop basic competency in using the warehouse management system or inventory records.
g) Select the correct items and quantities while maintaining inventory accuracy.
h) Apply appropriate stock rotation methods to minimise obsolete or expired inventory.
i) Recognise, document and escalate inventory differences.
j) Complete inventory-related documents accurately and consistently.
k) Handle inventory safely while protecting stock and maintaining an organised workplace.
l) Improve accuracy, checking habits and attention to detail when handling stock.
Duration of attachment offered
6 months attachment. Warehouse assistant role will be offered after completion of attachement, with a clear career progression and salary increament review on a yearly basis.
