Warehouse Assistant
MAIN PURPOSE
This position receives, stores, and distributes materials, equipment, and products within the Richemont Distribution Centre.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for receiving, unpacking and put away of inbound shipments.
· Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed or shipped.
· Moves materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
· Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
· Operate materials handling equipment (MHE) to transfer, put away and pick products to and from the storage locations.
· Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or relocates orders to a holding area for packing.
· Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
· Assists in counting of physical inventory.
· Weighs or counts items for distribution within the warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
· Arranges stock in specified sequence.
· Perform value added services on products such as labeling, recording serial numbers and repacking.
· Prepares parcels for shipping (packing and labeling)
· Keeps warehouse and work area clean by sweeping, dusting, and mopping.
· Keeps warehouse and work area organized at all times.
· Carries out ad-hoc maintenance duties as required.
Productivity
- Complete physical reception and put away stock as per SLA.
- Pick and pack products to be dispatched within the company’s performance guidelines.
Accuracy
- Maintain 100% accuracy for products to be picked, packed and dispatched.
- 100% accuracy for physical reception of goods.
Service
- Be responsive and flexible to the needs of the organization.
REQUIREMENTS
· One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Experience in SAP and operating material handling equipment (MHE) is an added advantage
· May be required to work overtime and shifts as required.
