Warehouse Assistant

Summary

Handles receiving, storing, and dispatching goods in a warehouse; maintains inventory accuracy and ensures safe, efficient operations.

As a Warehouse Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring that products are received, stored, and dispatched in an efficient and accurate manner. You will work closely with the warehouse team to maintain inventory, manage stock levels, and ensure the timely and safe delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Assist in receiving and inspecting incoming goods to ensure they meet the required specifications.
  • Accurately record and update inventory levels in the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Ensure that stock is stored properly, with clear labelling and organization.
  • Assist in periodic stock counts and audits to maintain inventory accuracy.

Order Fulfilment:

  • Pick and pack orders based on customer specifications and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare and label goods for dispatch, ensuring the correct quantities and products are shipped.
  • Prepare and organize shipping documenta􀆟on, such as delivery notes and invoices.

Warehouse Organization:

  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, ensuring that all goods are stored securely and in the correct locations.
  • Ensure safety guidelines and warehouse procedures are followed to minimize accidents or damage to goods.

Equipment Operation:

  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (if certified).
  • Assist with unloading goods from delivery vehicles and ensuring that the warehouse is stocked efficiently.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work as part of a team to meet operational targets and deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with other warehouse staff and departments to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely (training will be provided).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
