Warehouse Associate
Description
Warehouse Associate – Slab Handling & Forklift Experience
Company: Ceramic Matrix
Position: Warehouse Associate
Department: Operations / Warehouse
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Warehouse Manager / Operations Manager
Position Summary
Ceramic Matrix is seeking an experienced Warehouse Associate to join our operations team. This position will primarily support the receiving, storage, handling, and loading of natural stone, quartz, porcelain slabs, tile, and related materials.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a stone, slab, tile, countertop, or similar heavy-material warehouse environment and must be comfortable operating forklifts and handling large, fragile, and high-value materials safely.
Because of the size, weight, and value of the products we handle, previous slab-handling experience is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely receive, unload, move, store, and load natural stone, quartz, porcelain slabs, tile, and related products.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse material-handling equipment safely and responsibly.
- Handle large-format stone and porcelain slabs using appropriate equipment and established safety procedures.
- Load and unload trucks and containers while minimizing the risk of product damage.
- Select and stage slabs and tiles for customer orders, transfers, deliveries, and pickups.
- Assist customers, drivers, and sales staff with the safe viewing and movement of slab materials when required.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing material for visible damage, cracks, chips, or other issues and immediately report discrepancies.
- Verify product quantities, lot numbers, labels, and order information before material is moved or released.
- Maintain organized and safe slab storage areas, racks, aisles, loading areas, and warehouse workspaces.
- Assist with inventory counts and inventory accuracy.
- Follow all company safety procedures, particularly those related to forklift operation and the handling of large-format slabs.
- Maintain warehouse equipment and report any equipment damage, maintenance concerns, or unsafe conditions.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
- Work cooperatively with warehouse, operations, purchasing, sales, and delivery teams.
