Warehouse & Fulfilment Manager | 📍 Almere, Netherlands – On-site (5 days per week) | 💰 Competitive Salary + Benefits
About the Role
At Greetz, we help people make meaningful connections through thoughtful gifts and surprises. Behind every balloon and gift we send is a team making sure everything runs smoothly.
We're looking for a Warehouse & Fulfilment Manager to lead our warehouse and fulfilment operations in Almere. You'll help our teams deliver great service, maintain high standards and find better ways of working, even during our busiest seasons.
You'll lead two Team Leads who together support around 40 permanent colleagues across our warehouse and production teams. You'll also manage workforce planning and work closely with our staffing agency to make sure we have the right support during seasonal peaks.
Reporting to our Head of Operations, you'll play an important role in shaping how we work today and preparing our operations for the future.
We are offering a year-long contract (12 months) initially, with a view to converting into a permanent contract upon successful completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day running of our warehouse and fulfilment operations, keeping everything safe, efficient and on track.
- Coach and support two Team Leads, helping them develop their teams and create a positive working environment.
- Take ownership of team performance, engagement and development across approximately 40 permanent colleagues.
- Build a strong partnership with our staffing agency to support flexible staffing during busy periods.
- Oversee the packing of balloons and gifts, making sure orders meet our quality standards.
- Manage warehouse activities, including inbound and outbound operations, ensuring work is accurate and efficient.
- Build and maintain reliable processes that work well throughout the year, including during seasonal peaks.
- Work closely with our Health & Safety team to maintain a safe workplace and improve working practices.
- Identify and address safety risks, encouraging colleagues to share ideas and take an active role in making their workplace safer.
- Support annual budget planning and manage labour costs throughout the year.
- Plan staffing needs using expected order volumes, seasonal demand and available capacity.
- Balance service levels, staffing flexibility, operational capacity and costs while staying within budget.
- Lead improvements across warehouse and fulfilment operations, making processes simpler, more efficient and easier to scale.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and put practical, lasting solutions in place.
- Explore opportunities to improve processes through automation, equipment upgrades and smarter ways of working.
- Partner with Delivery, Product, Finance, Supply Chain and Commercial teams to keep operations aligned with wider business needs.
- Review new products, initiatives and requests to understand how they could work within our operations.
- Share clear, timely operational input so that plans are realistic and achievable.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with external partners, including staffing agencies, equipment suppliers and process improvement specialists.
- Plan ahead for future operational needs, including machinery, automation and external support, to help our operations grow sustainably.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys leading people, solving problems and making things work better. Someone who can balance the needs of the team with the day-to-day demands of a busy operation.
Here's what will help you succeed:
- Experience leading teams in fulfilment, warehousing, logistics or production.
- A track record of supporting and coaching Team Leads or supervisors to help their teams succeed.
- Ability to manage daily performance across safety, quality, service and cost.
- Experience planning staffing needs and managing busy periods, including working with temporary or flexible teams.
- Confidence managing budgets and labour costs, with a practical approach to balancing capacity and spend.
- Experience improving operational processes and finding effective solutions to everyday challenges.
- A strong commitment to Health & Safety, with a collaborative approach to involving colleagues in improvements.
- Ability to work well with different departments and external partners, sharing ideas and operational needs clearly.
- A hands-on, supportive leadership style, combined with the ability to plan ahead and prepare operations for growth.
- Fluency in both Dutch and English is essential. While both languages are used at Greetz, Dutch is the main language spoken in our day-to-day warehouse and fulfilment operations. You'll need to feel confident communicating in Dutch with colleagues and teams, while also being comfortable working in English with other departments and stakeholders.
This is an on-site role based at our fulfilment facility in Almere, with a requirement to work on-site 5 days per week. You'll work closely with our warehouse and production teams, providing hands-on leadership and helping everything run smoothly.
