Job Overview
Experienced shipper. Responsible for the preparation of domestic and foreign shipments in accordance with shipping requirements and specifications. General assignment supervised.
Key Responsibilities
- Check shipment for correct materials, packing, and crating, tagging and handing instructions, loading and bracing, etc.
- Basic problem-solving skills for handling discrepancies in orders or inventory.
- Proficiency in operating a wider range of warehouse equipment, including forklifts.
- Assign and check work of Packers and Craters and others engaged in the shipping procedures.
- Ability to manage inventory, including cycle counting and stock rotation.
- Load correct finished goods products and materials into boxes and ensure boxes are taped properly.
- Understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking and reporting inventory.
- Must be cross-trained and able to support all Warehouse I & II roles.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in warehouse operations.
- Ability to use and accurately read measuring devices (tape measures).
- Ability to use hand tools (hammer, wrench, level, etc.).
- Ability to follow blueprints.
- Ability to read and interpret Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry).
