Warehouse Lead - Night Shift

Location: Michigan City, IN
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10:00pm – 6:30am CST

When the day winds down, the work doesn’t stop. As our Warehouse Night Shift Lead, you’ll take ownership of the evening operation and help ensure our warehouse team finishes strong.
You’ll lead by example, keep priorities on track, help your team succeed, and make sure products are handled accurately, safely, and efficiently. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to get things done and enjoys helping others do their best work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and support warehouse employees during the night shift
- Assign work and help prioritize daily warehouse activities
- Monitor workflow to ensure orders, shipments, and other priorities are completed accurately and on time
- Provide hands-on assistance with picking, packing, receiving, loading, unloading, and inventory activities
- Ensure products are handled carefully and warehouse procedures are followed
- Monitor productivity, accuracy, attendance, and overall performance of team
- Provide coaching and direction to employees as needed
- Communicate important updates, issues, and operational needs to warehouse management
- Help troubleshoot problems and find practical solutions when challenges arise
- Ensure the warehouse remains clean, organized, and safe throughout the shift
- Follow and reinforce company safety policies and procedures
- Assist with inventory counts and investigate inventory discrepancies
- Ensure equipment is used properly and safely
- Complete shift handoffs and communicate outstanding priorities to the incoming team
- Help ensure the warehouse is properly secured and ready for the next business day
- Perform other warehouse and leadership duties as needed

Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Previous warehouse, distribution, logistics, or material-handling experience is required
- Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to learn and effectively use warehouse systems and technology
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety and operating procedures
- Must be able to become certified and maintain certification through an OSHA approved forklift certification program.

Physical & Work Environment
- Stand and/or walk for 8 hours
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds, up to 80 lbs. if in freight
- Lift, bend reach above the head, kneel, crouch, during shifts
- Push, pull, lift, and bend while handling product
- Ability to consistently work at a fast pace and maintain high scores for productivity and accuracy
- Work with and around moving mechanical equipment
- Noise levels and temperature may vary throughout the warehouse
Work Environment
- The work environment requires exposure to a typical warehouse environment which requires the use of personal protective equipment such as hardhats in certain areas. Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machining. Industrial lighting provided.
