Warehouse Lead (Nights)

** Schedule: Sunday 1:00 pm - completion & Monday - Thursday 4:00 pm - completion **

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for maintaining smooth day-to-day operations related to receiving, order selecting, bin slotting, and sanitation in areas including the freezer cooler, produce rooms, and dry areas in the Warehouse, as well as outside grounds if needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement. This position requires punctuality and dependable attendance to meet the needs of the business, including attending and taking part in meetings and presentations.
2. Follows all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
3. Ensures warehouse procedures, guidelines, and policies are met.
4. Complies with food safety and sanitation procedures.
5. Assists the operations by working with the Warehouse Associates assigned in the warehouse area, including training them in various aspects of their assigned tasks and keeping the Warehouse Supervisor informed about safety and effectiveness issues.
6. Responsible for the physical cycle count process of product donation, and purchased products as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.
7. Ensures that orders are pulled correctly and ready for distribution and/or pick-up tagged with barcode tags in bin locations.
8. Completes the slotting of products from the receiving area into the warehouse.
9. Ensures that all products and pallets are received correctly and racked in a timely manner.
10. Recoups all damaged products found during the bin slotting fulfillment process.
11. Provides exceptional customer service and supports receiving and operations programs.
12. Assists customers in loading/unloading their vehicles.
13. Supports Volunteer Services in pulling Project Requisition Order Sheet (PROS) and with Saturday coverage and coverage during periods when Houston Food Bank (HFB) has large volumes of volunteers.
14. Completes all paperwork in a timely fashion.
15. Completes verifications of the Receiving Order Detail Sheet (RODS) to ensure quantities are recorded correctly.
16. Communicates effectively with staff on log changes and perishable cooler/freezer spoilage, and maintains quality control logs and spoilage paperwork.
17. Maintains a clean, safe, and friendly work environment and warehouse by completing daily sanitation lists.
18. Provides exceptional customer service and supports receiving and operations programs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
