Warehouse Manager

- Lead all warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, storage, inventory movement, order fulfillment, picking, packing, shipping, and distribution.
- Ensure consumer, ecommerce, marketplace, retail, and international orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established service-level expectations.
- Monitor daily warehouse activities and proactively address operational issues, production constraints, fulfillment delays, or service-related concerns.
- Ensure the accurate receipt, handling, storage, and shipment of all products moving through the distribution center.
- Coordinate warehouse priorities based on business needs, order volume, retailer requirements, inventory availability, and shipping deadlines.
- Maintain organized and efficient warehouse workflows that support both current operations and future business growth.
Inventory Management & Control
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory management and control procedures designed to maximize accuracy and minimize inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain strong inventory controls throughout all stages of receiving, storage, movement, allocation, and fulfillment.
- Research inventory discrepancies, product losses, damages, and operational errors; identify root causes and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Manage the allocation and transfer of inventory between warehouses, fulfillment locations, and sales channels to support balanced product availability.
- Partner with Accounting and other departments to support inventory reconciliation, production control, cost accounting, and reporting requirements.
- Conduct or oversee cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory audits, and related reconciliation activities.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, and inventory-related processes.
- Continually evaluate warehouse procedures, workflows, systems, and resource utilization to identify opportunities to improve productivity, accuracy, efficiency, and service levels.
- Establish measurable performance standards and operational KPIs to evaluate warehouse productivity, quality, fulfillment accuracy, and overall performance.
- Utilize operational data and performance trends to identify areas of opportunity and implement sustainable process improvements.
- Support the implementation of new technologies, systems, automation, and operational tools designed to improve warehouse performance and scalability.
Transportation & Distribution
- Oversee and assist with the coordination of domestic carriers, international transportation, import/export requirements, and related logistics activities.
- Partner with transportation providers and internal teams to address delivery issues, service requests, carrier performance, and shipping requirements.
- Ensure shipments comply with customer, retailer, marketplace, carrier, and international shipping requirements.
- Support the evaluation of transportation services and shipping processes to identify opportunities for improved service and cost efficiency.
Ecommerce, Marketplace & Retail Support
- Support Third-Party Seller programs, ecommerce platforms, brick-and-mortar retailers, and other sales channels through the use of retailer- and marketplace-specific systems and software.
- Ensure warehouse operations meet retailer routing guides, shipping requirements, labeling standards, documentation requirements, and compliance expectations.
- Partner cross-functionally with Customer Care, Retail, Marketing, Finance, IT and other departments to ensure warehouse resources effectively support business priorities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve order, inventory, fulfillment, transportation, and customer service-related issues.
Cost Management & Resource Planning
- Control warehouse operating costs through effective labor management, productivity improvements, inventory accuracy, and efficient utilization of warehouse space and resources.
- Procure yearly warehouse budget including all applicable costs
- Optimize warehouse capacity, product placement, and storage strategies to maximize space utilization while ensuring products are properly protected and accessible.
- Evaluate staffing needs based on workload, seasonality, business volume, and operational requirements.
- Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary costs while maintaining or improving operational service and quality.
Leadership, Safety & Compliance
- Provide strong, visible leadership to warehouse employees and seasonal or temporary staff.
- Establish clear expectations for productivity, attendance, quality, safety, teamwork, and professional conduct.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, operational standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Promote a safe, organized, accountable, and performance-driven workplace.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with warehouse associates and cross-functional business partners.

The Warehouse Manager directly supervises warehouse employees, including regular, temporary, and seasonal staff, and is responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing and leadership coverage to support business needs.
Supervisory responsibilities include:
- Recruiting, interviewing, selecting, onboarding, and training warehouse employees.
- Planning, assigning, prioritizing, and directing daily work activities.
- Establishing individual and team performance expectations.
- Monitoring productivity, attendance, accuracy, quality, and overall employee performance.
- Providing regular coaching, feedback, development, and performance evaluations.
- Recognizing strong performance and identifying opportunities for employee development.
- Addressing performance concerns and administering corrective or disciplinary action when necessary and in accordance with company policies.
- Managing employee concerns, resolving workplace issues, and supporting a positive and professional work environment.
- Developing team capabilities through cross-training, process education, and leadership development.
- Ensuring employees receive appropriate training related to warehouse procedures, equipment, systems, safety requirements, and company policies.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- 7+ years of warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, supply chain, or logistics experience preferred.
- 5+ years of supervisory or management experience within a warehouse, distribution center, fulfillment center, or similar operational environment preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, develop, and hold employees accountable to established performance expectations.
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse receiving, put-away, inventory control, cycle counting, order fulfillment, picking, packing, shipping, and distribution processes.
- Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, shipping software, inventory management platforms, or similar technologies.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Ability to prioritize and execute multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Comfortable using operational data, reporting, KPIs, and productivity metrics to evaluate performance and support decision-making.
- Familiarity with retailer routing guides, EDI processes, marketplace fulfillment requirements, or retail compliance standards is preferred.
- Experience coordinating with domestic carriers, freight providers, or third-party logistics partners is preferred.
- Exposure to international shipping, import/export processes, customs documentation, or international transportation is a plus.
- Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and the ability to consistently enforce established safety policies and procedures.
- Proficient Excel skills, including the ability to work with spreadsheets, filters, formulas, reports, and operational data, are preferred.

Education and/or Experience
B.S. degree preferred but not required and at least 5 years of warehouse experience, with at least 3 years management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
