Warehouse Manager
The Warehouse Operations Manager has overall responsibility for the Warehouse Department. The Warehouse Operations Manager coordinates carefully with other departments to ensure a high level of quality, efficiency, sanitation and customer satisfaction. He/she maintains a high level of professionalism through clear and effective leadership. At times the Warehouse Operations Manager performs activities of workers supervised when necessary.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Management
Manages success of all active company goals and objectives.
Responsible for compliance and successful practice of all processes, reporting regularly with
the Operations Manager
Assigns workers to picking orders, receiving, sanitation, stock consolidation, return processing, and other duties as required.
Manages and assures clear communication with customer service and purchasing regarding material needed immediately upon receipt (cross dock); and regarding other issues related to shipping product in a timely manner.
Manages Shipping Lead to ensure 100% compliance on all out-bound shipments.
Manages Shipping and Receiving Leads to maintain high level of accountability.
Motivates employees in a positive environment to best drive overall customer satisfaction
Fosters an environment of continuous improvement where all ideas are welcome, and implements changes where appropriate
Continually seeks opportunities through internal and external resources to develop new or enhancing existing management skills
Maintains notes on employee performance for annual review process and disciplinary actions
Assign lunch hours and break times according to the day's activities.
Assigns overtime responsibilities with the approval from the Operations Manager
Trains and assists new employees on all warehouse operations in the absence of Shipping, Receiving, or lead positions.
Perform Shipping or Receiving Lead’s duties when they are absent
Warehouse Procedure & Inventory Control
Responsible for managing company overall inventory accuracy.
Ensures accurate inventory control through daily cycle counts.
Responsible for executing adjustments to lot numbers, location accuracy, stock checks and taking of physical inventory
Establishes operational procedures with Operations Manager for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, keeping of warehouse inventory and the accuracy of receiving reports.
Reports all damaged products and coordinate its disposition. Directs reclamation of damaged merchandise.
Controls product quarantine area to ensure quality control of material shipped.
Optimizes space consolidation and organization of stock rotation for time sensitive material.Initiates investigations into causes of damages or shortages as they relate to warehouse activities and implements corrective actions where necessary.
Performs final stock check verifications of all outbound shipments before any material leaves the warehouse.
Performs all daily entries of outbound shipment Validations in system and verifies all OSO items are cleared.
Operational Communication & Efficiency
Stays abreast of best practice methodology in warehouse management and makes suggestions to Operations Manager for innovative ways to reduce costs and increase efficiencies.
Develops and implements scalable methods and procedures with Operations Manager to eliminate operating problems, improve efficiency and maintain a high level of product quality and consistency.
Communicates with other departments, managers and employees regarding warehouse operations and changes.
Communicates with personnel on problems, suggestions and new procedures.
Coordinates activities of warehouse with activities of sales, customer service, and purchasing departments to ensure availability of merchandise.
Assists with the formulation and implementation of programs to ensure best price and service.
Suggest warehouse equipment where needed with the Operations Manager.
Compliance & Safety
Directly supports the sanitation effort by adhering to all warehouse safety and sanitation regulations.
Ensures warehouse team is complying with all procedural or documentation requirements as they relate to SQF (Safe Quality Food) or general safety.
Maintains a sanitation level in the warehouse at SQF certification standard. Includes warehouse organization, outside grounds, receiving and shipping practices, housekeeping practices, merchandise storage conditions, and insect, rodent and vermin control.
Manages and completes monthly SQF internal audit report and all requirements
Clerical/General Administrative
Responds to routine emails, phone calls, etc
Makes copies, prints documents, mail delivery, etc
Files paperwork
