Summary of Position:

The Warehouse & Operations Manager I is responsible for managing Warehousing, Inventory Control & Accuracy, Receipt & Dispatch Operations, Transportation, and Global Logistics to determine and/or validate value, country of origin, and Harmonized Tariff Classifications for both import/export transactions. Develop processes designed for Warehousing transaction documentation required for shipments from multiple warehouses and manufacturing facilities throughout the world. Work with international affiliates to ensure import/export certificates and supporting documentation are in place. Work in collaboration with the procurement and Sales support team to achieve the company Goal.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for the management of the warehouse, in line with the organization's policies

Ensure that accurate and complete accounting, reporting, and internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are properly maintained

Ensure that standard systems are properly maintained at the warehouse

Assess the availability of space & prepare stocking/storage plans prior to contingency commodities arrivals

Monitor & update the receipt of all arriving consignments within the time frame

Monitor the quantity and quality of commodities stored

Carry out regular physical checks of commodities and inventory

Prepare procedures & necessary steps for commodity disposal and keep track of non-moving & slow-moving stock

Prepare and publish Daily MIS reports, regular stock reports, and daily stock positions to concerned stakeholders

Attain technical clearance from indenters wherever required.

Prepare loading plans and ensure that standard Documentation is duly complete

Ensure timely processing of all inbound and outbound activities

Ensure timely updating of WMS on stocks inbound, outbound, and returns and follow-up system updates of closeout items

Prepare, maintain, and update SOP documentation of processes to meet customer requirements

Ensure work processes comply with documented procedures and proper housekeeping of the warehouse

Ensures the highest degree of efficiency is always maintained

Supervises and monitors the performance of Warehouse employees to ensure standard practices and proper care of using the equipment, materials, and supplies in the warehouse

Supervise the distribution flow and the transportation activities

Provide on-the-job training to warehouse staff

Perform inventory reconciliation on stock discrepancy

Manage inventory accuracy via planned cycle count, monthly inventory count & reconciliation, inventory analysis, and related reports

Ensure warehouse operations safety and security

Assist the Team in the implementation of work improvement projects

Communicate with the internal team on operations and service issues if any

Participate in Internal meetings and manage transportation service providers

Evaluate service levels, review processes and procedures, identify areas for improvement, and establish continuous improvement plans

Provide training, coaching, and support to assigned personnel to enable them to effectively perform their jobs

Monitor and track all warehouse, transportation, and administrative costs associated with their assigned responsibilities

Knowledge of import/export documentation

Support corporate in maintaining external customs broker relationships

Evaluate trade implications

Act as trade liaison to other departments within the 3MD companies

Initiate and/or review and revise Standard Operating Procedures

Manage activities of freight forwarders and customs brokers

Support the evaluation of the business to support the go / no go decision

Advise company management on trade compliance initiatives, objectives, and associated risks

Conduct regular trade compliance process reviews and internal audits across operating units to assure trade compliance effectiveness and identify areas of weakness for improvement

Interact substantially with other 3MD companies and personnel in India and abroad

Work Environment:

This position is based in a professional office setting and regularly utilizes workplace technology, including computers, smartphones, multifunction printers, cloud-based filing systems, and collaboration tools

Physical Demands:

This role requires physical capabilities that support the successful execution of key responsibilities. The employee regularly engages in verbal and written communication with colleagues and clients to address project-related inquiries and must be able to convey accurate information clearly and efficiently. The position involves remaining seated at a workstation for approximately 75% of the time, with occasional movement throughout the office to access equipment, supplies, and shared resources. Daily tasks include consistent use of computers and standard office technology such as keyboards, printers, and multifunction devices. The role also involves transporting equipment boxes weighing up to 25 pounds within the building and to other offsite locations as needed for project support

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
  • 5+ years of experience
