The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Warehouse Team Leader to lead a team of Warehouse Operatives and help deliver a safe, accurate and efficient fulfilment operation.
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of your team, ensuring that orders are completed accurately and within agreed service levels. This is a practical leadership role for someone who enjoys being visible on the warehouse floor, supporting colleagues and finding better ways of working.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading, managing, coaching and developing a team of Warehouse Operatives.
- Overseeing daily warehouse activities, including receiving, picking, packing and dispatch.
- Ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently and within agreed client service levels.
- Conducting daily team briefings and communicating operational priorities clearly.
- Monitoring productivity, accuracy, quality and efficiency and addressing performance concerns.
- Managing colleague attendance and supporting the fair and consistent management of absence and performance.
- Helping to prepare shift rotas and complete associated administration.
- Supporting accurate inventory records, cycle counts and the correct storage of products.
- Working with the Inventory, Customer Service and Sales teams to resolve discrepancies and client concerns.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve processes and performance.
- Ensuring colleagues are properly trained and that training records are maintained.
- Promoting safe working practices and compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Supporting safety inspections, incident prevention and the achievement of operational KPIs.
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience as a Warehouse Team Leader, Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar leadership role.
- Good knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management and logistics.
- Experience of leading, coaching and motivating warehouse colleagues.
- Confidence managing attendance, performance and day-to-day operational issues.
- Experience using a warehouse management system and other relevant technology.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to understand operational data and use it to make informed decisions.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Clear and confident communication skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse health and safety requirements and good working practices.
- Experience of continuous improvement or Lean working methods would be advantageous.

The role involves working in an active warehouse environment, including standing, walking and lifting. You must also be able to work the required shift pattern, including weekends and public holidays where applicable.
