WAREHOUSE SELECTOR (31990)
Position Summary
The Warehouse Selector is responsible for accurately selecting, organizing, and preparing meat, seafood, and other food products for customer orders and shipment. This position plays an important role in supporting Meats by Linz’s high-volume distribution operations, including orders for cruise-line customers. The Warehouse Selector must work efficiently while maintaining accuracy, product quality, food safety, and proper handling procedures in refrigerated and freezer environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Select meat, seafood, and other food products from warehouse, cooler, and freezer locations according to customer orders and pick tickets.
- Accurately verify product descriptions, quantities, lot numbers, labels, and other order information.
- Prepare and stage completed orders for shipping and loading.
- Handle meat, seafood, and food products according to company food-safety, sanitation, and product-handling procedures.
- Maintain proper product rotation using FIFO/FEFO practices when applicable.
- Inspect products for damage, incorrect labeling, packaging issues, or other concerns and report discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor.
- Ensure orders are picked accurately and completed within established shipping deadlines.
- Organize products on pallets, carts, or other approved equipment for safe transportation.
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries as needed.
- Maintain clean and organized warehouse, cooler, freezer, and staging areas.
- Operate pallet jacks, carts, scanners, and other warehouse equipment as trained and authorized.
- Follow all GMP, HACCP, OSHA, company safety, and food-handling requirements.
- Follow proper PPE requirements, including required cold-weather gear and safety footwear.
- Communicate order discrepancies, shortages, damaged products, and inventory concerns to the supervisor.
- Assist with inventory counts and warehouse organization as needed.
- Work closely with Shipping, Receiving, Inventory, and Warehouse personnel to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Cruise-Line Order Responsibilities:
The Miami operation supports cruise-line customers and other high-volume food-service accounts. The Warehouse Selector may be responsible for preparing large, time-sensitive orders containing meat, seafood, and other food products that must meet specific customer requirements and strict shipping schedules. Attention to detail is essential to ensure the correct products, quantities, packaging, and labeling are prepared for each shipment.
Work Environment:
This position operates primarily in a warehouse, cooler, and/or freezer environment and involves handling meat, seafood, and other food products throughout the workday. Employees are expected to follow all company safety, food-safety, sanitation, GMP, and PPE requirements at all times.
