Location: We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Supervisor for the BC Place Stadium.

Sodexo Live! is the Official Supplier of Food and Beverage Services to BC Place Stadium. BC Place is a multi-purpose stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Located at the north side of False Creek, it is owned and operated by the BC Pavilion Corporation, a Crown corporation of the province. Home to BC Lions, Vancouver White Caps, Concerts and Live events, the facility hosts welcomes hundreds of thousands of fans each year, while generating significant economic activity for the Province.

Job Overview:

This position is responsible for supporting the Warehouse Manager with receiving orders, shipping returns, managing the stock workers responsible for receiving orders, keeping product organized, and tracking product entering the building.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the control procedures are being used for cataloguing, inventory control, bulk storage and distribution of materials, equipment and supplies and assist in maintaining this supply system.
  • Comparing incoming warehouse orders to a printed PO sheet.
  • Informing proper teams when their order arrives if it is not meant for the warehouse.
  • Keep a record of product temperatures, in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assisting the Manager by informing them when they perceive stock to be running low, or too high.
  • Informing manager when orders are shortened compared to the Purchase Order.
  • Ensure that we are storing frozen and cooled products in the proper locations.
  • Organize warehouse spaces such as the Beer Cooler, Main Warehouse, and Freezer's, to ensure efficient storage and use of our spaces.
  • Keeping the shared concourse clear, safe, and uncongested so that other team's equipment and vehicles may safely traverse the space.
  • Supervise, as requested, warehouse workers in their daily duties.
  • Receive store and distribute supplies and equipment in large, centralized warehousing operations.
  • Use of storage systems, policies and procedures to ensure maximum use and efficiency of space and storage areas in warehousing operations.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse control systems, manual or automated.
  • Submit reports of damage, outdated stock or supplies, over and under shipments, return of goods to vendors, etc.
  • Verify discrepancies, shortages, over shipments or to arrange for emergency shipments or requisitions and remedy with leadership and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Required:

    • High school diploma
    • Three years' experience in the receipt, storage or distribution of food and beverage, supplies or equipment
    • 2 years at the supervisory level in entertainment or convention center venues.
    • Ability to promote and participate in a team environment.
    • Ability to understand written and oral direction and to communicate the same with others.
    • Must have excellent communication skills

    Other Requirements of Job duties:

    • While performing the duties of this job, an employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and taste or smell
    • The employee is required to bend stoop, kneel, or crouch, climb, and must have the ability to reach overhead, above the shoulders
    • The employee must regularly grasp, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and carry approximately 20 feet
    • Ability to physically walk approximately one-fourth (4) of a mile and the circumference of the unit several times a day
    • Employee must be able to perform repetitive motions
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
    • While performing duties of this job, the associate is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat
    • Employees must be able to work in a cold environment - such as when working in the walk-in refrigerators
    • Employees are occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold
    • Employee must have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
    • Employees must be able to operate in an environment with moderate to high noise levels.
    • Other lifting or physical requirements as added from time to time, or as required, performing the essential functions of this job.
