General: Responsible for performing all tasks related to outpatient referral communications with the patient/client and physician office referral sources. Responsible for maintenance and repair of all returned equipment, specializing in oxygen equipment. Ensure all equipment meets manufacturer standard, all transactions are completed and documentation is stored correctly in Brightree. Responsible for ensuring that orders to be delivered are properly filled, staged and ready for delivery, and maintaining HME and warehouse in a clean and organized manner.
Reports To: Department Manager or Director
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Handles intake inquiries from physician offices and intakes all pertinent information including documentation required to meet coverage criteria.
  • Maintains open communication with patients/clients and referral sources, responding to all questions and concerns.
  • Move equipment to testing station, lift equipment to bench if necessary
  • Inspect equipment for cleanliness or damage.
    • Clean if necessary.
    • Assure equipment falls into repairable guidelines per SOP before repairing damage.
    • Repair damaged cords before plugging any units in
  • Test equipment per manufacturer specifications
  • Determine if equipment needs repaired and warranty status if necessary
    • Follow Repair and Maintenance procedures through Sop or QRG, as directed.
  • Complete necessary repairs per manufacturer service manuals and ensure unit is operating equal to or better than manufacturer specifications.
  • Document maintenance or repairs as completed per SOP in Brightree
  • Complete all Brightree transfers necessary to follow SOP in place.
  • Maintains warehouse and work area in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Assists with other warehouse activities as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalent.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Physical Requirements:
HME Equipment repair experience a plus
Excellent written and oral communication
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills (a team player).
Excellent computer skills required
Good physical condition with ability to lift up to 100 pounds and complete a Human Performance Evaluation.
Driving ability is NOT to be part of this position.
