Overview:

Olgoonik is seeking an experienced Warehouse Specialist Supervisor oversee warehouse storage and distribution operations supporting Government-owned products. The Warehouse Specialist Supervisor will provide hands-on leadership to warehouse personnel and ensure that daily receiving, storage, inventory, material handling, and shipping activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and coordinates warehouse personnel and daily warehouse activities.
  • Assigns personnel to workload based on operational requirements.
  • Monitors warehouse production, quality, safety, and material accountability.
  • Oversees receipt, inspection, storage, movement, inventory, selection, and shipment of Government-owned products.
  • Ensures material is properly stored, stacked, palletized, identified, and protected.
  • Monitors inventory accuracy and assist with physical inventories and discrepancy resolution.
  • Ensures employees properly use WMS and other Government data systems.
  • Troubleshoots common operational and WMS issues and elevates complex problems as necessary.
  • Trains, mentors, and provides on-the-job guidance to warehouse personnel.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, security, sanitation, environmental, and warehouse procedures.
  • Coordinates with the Project Supervisor and Government personnel regarding workload and operational issues.
  • Supports audits, inspections, inventory verification, and quality control activities.
  • Ensures adequate staffing is maintained across warehouse functions and shifts.
  • Responds to Government transportation and operational inquiries within required timeframes.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises warehouse employees within their assigned area of responsibility as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous warehouse, logistics, distribution, or supply experience.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or lead experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of warehouse storage, material handling, inventory, and distribution operations.
  • Ability to operate or direct the operation of material handling equipment as required.
  • Experience using an automated warehouse management or supply system preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime as mission requirements dictate.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be articulate, creative, a problem solver, a decision maker, and a change agent.
  • Must have excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite including, Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
  • Demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) experience.
  • DLA WMS experience.
  • Experience with climate-controlled food/subsistence warehousing.
  • Prior Government contract experience.
  • Current forklift/MHE certification.
