Warehouse Supervisor – Afternoon Shift

Imperial Brady Canada, leading national distributor, has a job opening on the afternoon shift in Delta, BC. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supervising all operations activities while respecting set budgets and keeping interruptions in customer service to a minimum. To manage warehouse employees while maintaining a good working environment and promoting occupational health and safety.

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to a team of 15+ distribution employees.
Promote a culture of safety at every opportunity with employees. Ensure safety procedures are being followed strictly and that work is performed in a safe and efficient manner.
Supervise the daily work flow in the areas of order filling, picking and truck loading.
Identify process improvements, increase efficiency and productivity to achieve budget targets and operational metrics.
Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure effective internal and external customer service.
Ensure standard productivity and error standards are consistently met.
Provide orientation and ongoing training.
Assess manpower requirements necessary to maintain established service levels.

Qualifications:

2+ years working in a unionized environment
Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
PC and computer systems knowledge is necessary.
Personal strengths include exceptional leadership and interpersonal communication abilities, self-motivation and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of and experience in general warehouse practices and procedures related to the order filling and delivery functions (WMS, Routing, etc.).
Ability to work the afternoon shift, hours 1:00pm-9:30pm.
Post secondary education in operational management preferred or equivalent experience.
2+ years of supervisory experience within distribution/operations industry.
Experience in dry storage environments preferred

Working/Other Conditions:

Indoor office environment, within a dry climate-controlled warehouse environment
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Prolong periods of sitting, and computer and phone use
Required to wear personal protective equipment – company supplied
Minimal to moderate exposure to hazardous conditions, noise, and vibrations conducive to a warehouse environment.
Ability to work extended hours, which may be required from time to time

This position has a salary range of $65,000.00 to $75,000.00.
This position has working hours Monday to Friday, 1:00pm – 9:30pm.
