Job Summary
Directs and supervises staff in the moving, processing, shipping, receiving, and controlling raw donations, salvage, recycling inventory and stored inventory.
Essential Job Duties
- In collaboration with Director of Logistics and other leadership, oversees warehouse; direct activities of warehouse staff
- Schedules staff, documents and communicates performance and behavioral issues
- Trains, coaches and provides feedback to help staff strengthen and develop skills
- Effectively manages time and monitors staff time to ensure that work is completed
- Coordinates and expedites flow of materials between locations, according to truck schedules and store needs.
- Reviews production schedules, confers with department supervisors to determine production requirements, and arranges transfers of materials.
- Operates a forklift, baler and lift tables in accordance with OSHA and LLGI standards.
- Moves, transports and prepares donated goods for delivery to stores according to priorities and availability.
- Examines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Compiles and maintains material inventory records and prepares reports
- Ensures proper maintenance and care of equipment, machinery and facilities
- Contributes to team success by involving others in work processes, decisions and actions
- Serves as a leader and role model for the warehouse.
- Analyzes the warehouse operation, recognizes potential issues before they arise, and recommends appropriate solutions.
- Prioritizes tasks; meets warehouse production goals and deadlines.
- Oversees staff in performing janitorial duties; assists with janitorial duties.
- Ensures warehouse staff follow policies and procedures
- Demonstrates leadership and positive role modeling for warehouse staff
- Champions safety and loss prevention program and handles loss control concerns
- Drives warehouse operational improvements
- Maintains quality control in warehouse operations
- Enforces safety policies and procedures and ensures they are being followed; reports noncompliance
- Leads daily stretching/warm-up exercises
- Conducts emergency drills; reviews and reports results; performs quarterly ergonomic assessments
- Ensures that shelter postings and evacuations routes are current and posted
- Conducts daily safety checks; identifies, corrects and removes hazards
- Performs monthly audits and reviews checklists for general safety and lighting
- Ensures that required reporting, including safety checklists, are completed by the designated deadline
- Conducts site walkthroughs and ensures the safety acknowledgment is completed for new employees
- Attends safety meetings/conference calls; relays information to appropriate individuals and implements new initiatives
- Oversees inventory and distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE) for the worksite; maintains first aid kit, safety and PPE inventory
- Conducts toolbox talks and updates facility staff on important safety information
- Updates and maintains site safety documentation; maintains safety-related binders and boards
- Serves as a site contact for accident/incident reporting; works alongside site supervisor(s) to investigate and report incidents/accidents
- Ensures EPA/OSHA compliance with workplace chemicals including donated chemicals
- Travels to locations within the LLGI territory
- Ensures that the stakeholder’s perspective is a driving force behind customer satisfaction.
