Warehouse Supervisor

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the activities of the receiving and shipping of inventory items and the proper and timely staging, storing and handling of materials for the production floor. The Warehouse Supervisor must have a clear understanding of the company’s policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these. The Warehouse Supervisor must ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the department’s activities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse Supervisor Job Duties:
- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing activities in keeping with the company’s targets and objectives.
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling results. Reports inventory status to Purchasing Manager as required.
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
- Research and implement cost reduction measures in all aspects of warehouse transactions and activities
- Accomplishes warehouse operations human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
- Achieves warehouse operations operational objectives by contributing warehouse operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends.
- Meets warehouse operations financial objectives by forecasting requirements; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Develop warehouse operation improvements by analyzing process work flow, manning and space requirements, and equipment layout; recommending changes to management.
Warehouse Supervisor Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be able to manage process and people.
- Must have good data entry skills.

- Must be able to analyze information dealing with complexity and deadline oriented.

INTERRELATIONSHIPS
Internal: The Warehouse Supervisor will work closely with Production Departments, Scheduling, Procurement, Engineering, Accounting, Human Resources and Management to ensure internal customer satisfaction.
