Overview: This position will be located in McCook, IL.
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Technician with a valid forklift certification. The ideal candidate will have a background in chemical manufacturing and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming raw materials and packaging supplies.
- Safely store materials in designated locations following chemical compatibility and hazard classifications.
- Perform cycle counts and assist with periodic physical inventory checks.
- Maintain accurate records in ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, SAGE, Oracle).
- Handle drums, totes, and containers of chemicals using forklifts and drum handling equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all Safety Data Sheet (SDS) instructions.
- Follow proper labeling, segregation, and storage procedures according to OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.
- Prepare and package outbound shipments, including hazardous materials (HAZMAT), per DOT and IATA regulations.
- Load and unload trucks safely, verifying bills of lading, packing slips, and shipment documentation.
- Accurately complete receiving, shipping, and inventory documents.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (must be certified).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous forklift/material handling experience.
- Demonstrated reliability and consistency in prior work history.
- Has successfully solved problems in a previous position.
- Forklift certification, manufacturing, operations, or warehouse experience is required.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to growth, including changes.
- Eager to learn new things, with a focus on always getting better.
- Willingness to help the team and be receptive to coaching and feedback.
- Demonstrate commitment with flexibility to work weekends and overtime when needed.
- Effectively communicate both in writing and orally in English
- Ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours a day, perform manual duties; must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly.
