Position Summary
The Warehouse Working Lead coordinates daily dock operations while working alongside the team in a fast-paced automotive parts distribution environment. Freight consists of automotive parts. This physically demanding role requires standing and walking throughout the shift, manually moving freight, assigning work, and meeting production deadlines. No powered equipment is used on the dock; all freight is handled manually.The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable coaching associates, delegating tasks, and leading by example while ensuring freight is processed and loaded safely, accurately, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside the team, learn core job functions, and support hands-on training.
- Coordinate staffing, assign workloads, and keep daily dock activities on schedule.
- Once fully trained, provide shift coverage and oversee dock operations when the supervisor is off or unavailable.
- Coach employees, communicate expectations, and support new-hire onboarding.
- Assist with interviews, hiring, timekeeping, and employee performance matters.
- Monitor productivity, accuracy, safety, and service; report operational results.
- Maintain accurate freight records and use reports to assess warehouse activity.
- Respond professionally to customer questions and operational concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and identify process improvements.
Schedule and Pay
- Monday through Friday | 3:30 PM-12:00 AM | $22 per hour
