Job Summary
The FMCG Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end warehouse operations in a fast-moving consumer goods environment. The role ensures efficient inventory management, high service levels, compliance with FIFO/FEFO standards, cost control, and optimal workforce productivity while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Manage daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and returns.
- Ensure accurate inventory handling and strict compliance with FIFO/FEFO principles.
- Optimize warehouse layout, space utilization, and material flow to improve efficiency.
- Plan and manage labor requirements, shifts, and peak demand periods.
Inventory Management
- Maintain high inventory accuracy through cycle counts and stock audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and damages.
- Monitor stock aging, expiry dates, and slow-moving items.
- Ensure proper documentation and system updates for all warehouse movements.
Systems & Reporting
- Utilize WMS/ERP systems to manage warehouse operations and reporting.
- Track and analyze warehouse KPIs (inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, productivity, losses).
- Prepare regular operational and performance reports for management.
Team Leadership
- Lead, supervise, and develop warehouse supervisors and frontline staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.
- Enforce discipline, attendance, and productivity standards.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, company policies, and FMCG quality standards.
- Conduct safety briefings, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Quality and Audit teams during internal and external audits.
Continuous Improvement & Cost Control
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs and improve service levels.
- Control warehouse operating expenses and minimize losses and damages.
- Support automation, digitalization, and best-practice implementation.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 3-5 years of warehouse management experience in FMCG or high-volume distribution environments.
- Proven experience leading large warehouse teams and managing multiple shifts.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and FMCG best practices.
- Proficiency in WMS/ERP systems and MS Office.
- Excellent leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
