The Position:
A Wealth Manager serves clients by providing sound financial guidance and critical recommendations by obtaining and evaluating a client’s financial information. In addition, this role develops, recommends, and manages financial plans. This role works closely with our Business Development Department to create, achieve and expand Merit’s business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with prospects throughout the engagement process
- Meet with clients to form a financial plan encompassing expenses, income, insurance coverage, objectives, tax status, risk tolerance, or other elements
- Analyze market performance, investments, and client data to develop strategies for meeting clients' financial goals
- Review client accounts regularly to ascertain if economic or life changes necessitate plan adjustments
- Collaborate with other tax, legal, and insurance professionals to cover your clients’ entire financial roadmap and ensure they’re on track to achieving their goals
- Interpret and prepare income projections, financial summaries, and investment performance reports, and manage and update client portfolios accordingly
- Work closely with the Client Development Managers in conducting marketing events to increase the number of prospects in our database and assist in the follow up with these prospects
- Review/prepare workshop presentations and conduct educational workshopsAchieve production and revenue targets as established by firm leadership.
- Stay informed on industry developments, compliance requirements, and market conditions.
- Mentor junior advisors and team members.

Compensation: Merit Financial Advisors offers competitive compensation based on experience, qualifications, location, and market data. Where required by applicable law, salary ranges will be provided during the hiring process.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in the financial services industry
- Active Series 65 license, Series 66 license, CFP designation, CFA designation, ChFC designation, or CIC designation required.
- Life and Health licenses or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Proven track record in financial advising and business development.
- Exceptional relationship management and consultative sales skills.
- Demonstrate excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Possess a willingness to learn firm technologies
- Strong working knowledge across a variety of financial products and services (debt management, cash management, insurance coverage, investments, etc.)
- Proven ability to provide strategic advice in the above areas articulately
- Desire to grow the prospect pipeline
