The Web Design Specialist plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of activities directly related to the company’s marketing functions. The role is primarily responsible, under moderate to intermittent direction, for the conceptual development, direction, delivery, buy-in, and production of visual design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design digital materials including websites, landing pages, microsites, email campaigns, and social media assets.
  • Create user-centered, conversion-focused UX/UI designs for responsive web and marketing experiences.
  • Translate business goals, audience insights, and marketing objectives into intuitive and engaging digital solutions.
  • Apply conceptual thinking and design strategy to develop creative concepts based on user needs, market research, and technical constraints.
  • Present design concepts, rationale, and solutions clearly to stakeholders and secure buy-in when required.
  • Collaborate with designers, copywriters, project managers, and front-end developers to deliver cohesive digital experiences.
  • Work within CMS environments (WordPress preferred) to design and support digital implementations.
  • Assist with front-end development for small projects when necessary and collaborate closely with development teams.
  • Design and test HTML email campaigns to ensure deliverability and cross-client compatibility.
  • Maintain consistent brand standards across all digital touchpoints and create supporting style guides or brand guidelines when needed.
  • Apply responsive design and accessibility (ADA) best practices across digital experiences.
  • Manage creative workflows including file organization, version control, and design approval processes.
  • Meet with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify project goals, and deliver creative solutions within agreed timelines.
  • Stay informed on emerging UX/UI, web, and digital marketing trends and propose process improvements to enhance team efficiency and asset adoption.
  • Provide guidance and creative input to team members to foster strong collaboration and high-quality outcomes.
  • Design print materials as needed to support broader marketing initiatives.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • WordPress
  • Pardot (preferred; similar tools acceptable, but Pardot experience is ideal)
  • Unbounce (or similar landing page tools)
  • Figma
  • Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Familiarity with Adobe Workfront is a plus
  • Canva knowledge is optional but nice to have
