Join the Maritime Administration (MARAD) as our senior Web Designer and lead the strategy, design, and modernization of enterprise web and digital products. You'll collaborate with agency leadership to create secure, accessible, and user-centered digital experiences that improve public engagement, support mission delivery, and shape the future of MARAD's online presence.

As a Web Designer, you will: Lead strategy, architecture, design, development, and continuous improvement of MARAD's enterprise websites and digital products, ensuring they align with organizational goals and customer needs. Design and implement user-centered digital experiences by leading user research, information architecture, usability testing, and accessibility initiatives that improve how customers access information and services. Develop and maintain secure, accessible, and high-performing web solutions by applying modern web technologies, accessibility standards, security requirements, and digital governance best practices. Serve as the agency's senior technical advisor on web and digital initiatives, providing guidance to leadership, collaborating with stakeholders, and translating business needs into effective technical solutions. Lead and coordinate the work of developers, designers, content authors, and contractors to deliver innovative, scalable, and mission-focused digital solutions. The ideal candidate is an innovative digital leader who enjoys solving complex challenges and creating user-centered web experiences. They excel at translating organizational goals into practical digital solutions, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and balancing usability, accessibility, security, and technology to deliver modern, high-quality digital products.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD: You must complete a one-year probationary period (unless already completed). TIME-IN-GRADE: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade in the competitive or excepted service in the executive branch to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions contained in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F.
