Role Overview

We are looking for a Web Experience Designer to own and improve Stryv’s Shopify storefront experience.

Reporting to the Creative Manager, this role sits across UI/UX, Shopify maintenance, CRO, web design, analytics, and developer coordination. You will be responsible for keeping the website clear, consistent, conversion-focused, and commercially effective across product pages, landing pages, collection pages, cart, and checkout flows.

The role is ideal for a designer who can combine strong visual judgement with data, user behaviour, and e-commerce insight to decide what should be improved, prioritised, and built.

Key Responsibilities

1. Shopify Storefront Ownership

  • Manage day-to-day Shopify storefront updates, including product pages, collection pages, navigation, banners, merchandising, and theme sections.

  • Maintain UI consistency across the website, ensuring pages follow Stryv’s design system and brand direction.

  • Make simple updates using Shopify’s theme editor, sections, blocks, and app settings.

  • Ensure the website remains clean, functional, mobile-friendly, and easy for customers to browse.

2. Web Experience, UI/UX & Conversion

  • Design user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity web layouts for product pages, landing pages, and e-commerce journeys.

  • Improve the website’s information architecture, navigation, product discovery, cart experience, and overall shopping journey.

  • Use analytics, heatmaps, user behaviour, and funnel data to identify drop-offs and improvement opportunities.

  • Develop hypotheses, propose UX improvements, support A/B testing, and report on learnings.

  • Ensure web decisions are driven by both design quality and measurable customer behaviour.

3. Product Pages, Landing Pages & Campaign Support

  • Design and improve PDPs, landing pages, collection pages, campaign pages, and promotional web experiences.

  • Work with Product, Marketing, and Creative teams to translate product messaging into clear web experiences.

  • Support launches by ensuring product pages and web assets are ready, accurate, and aligned with campaign direction.

  • Ensure product information, pricing, claims, visuals, CTAs, and page structure are clear and customer-friendly.

4. Developer Coordination & Web Backlog

  • Scope web requirements clearly for developers, including page structures, UI behaviour, app requirements, and responsive expectations.

  • Prepare clean Figma files, annotations, handoff specs, and QA notes for development.

  • QA web builds across desktop and mobile to ensure accuracy, functionality, responsiveness, and design consistency.

  • Help prioritise the web backlog based on business needs, conversion impact, launch timelines, and technical effort.

  • Break larger web projects into clear, staged deliverables.

5. Design System & Web Standards

  • Maintain a Figma component library that reflects Stryv’s Shopify theme sections, blocks, and reusable web modules.

  • Create reusable templates for PDPs, landing pages, banners, campaign pages, and collection layouts.

  • Improve web design standards across layout, typography, spacing, CTA usage, mobile responsiveness, and content hierarchy.

  • Ensure the website feels consistent across product categories, campaigns, and customer journeys.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Marketing, Creative, Web Developers, and leadership to clarify requirements and align priorities.

  • Translate vague business needs into clear web tasks, design scopes, and staged execution plans.

  • Communicate trade-offs clearly between design quality, technical effort, speed, and business impact.

  • Help ensure web projects are delivered on time and with clear ownership.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in UI/UX, web design, product design, or e-commerce design.

  • Strong experience designing for mobile-first e-commerce experiences.

  • Hands-on Shopify experience, including theme editor, sections, blocks, product setup, collection setup, and common Shopify apps.

  • Strong Figma skills, including components, auto-layout, prototyping, and developer handoff.

  • Good understanding of e-commerce UX, conversion funnels, product pages, cart flows, checkout journeys, and landing pages.

  • Experience using analytics and CRO tools such as GA4, Shopify Analytics, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, or A/B testing tools.

  • Able to use data and user insight to explain what should be improved and why.

  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and basic frontend constraints.

  • Strong attention to detail across layout, spacing, responsiveness, product information, and web QA.

  • Able to manage multiple web projects, updates, and deadlines in a fast-moving environment.

  • Strong communicator who can work with designers, developers, marketers, product teams, and leadership.

Nice To Have

  • Experience with Shopify Plus.

  • Basic understanding of Liquid or frontend development.

  • Knowledge of checkout extensibility.

  • Basic SEO knowledge.

  • Basic page speed and performance optimisation knowledge.

  • Experience with CRO testing, web experimentation, or conversion reporting.

  • Experience working in DTC, consumer electronics, beauty, lifestyle, or homecare brands.

What Success Looks Like

  • Stryv’s Shopify storefront is well-maintained, consistent, mobile-friendly, and easy to shop.

  • PDPs, landing pages, collection pages, and campaign pages are clearer, more conversion-focused, and better structured.

  • Web improvements are guided by data, user behaviour, and business priorities.

  • Developers receive clear scopes, clean Figma handoffs, and actionable QA feedback.

  • The web design system becomes more consistent and scalable.

  • Product launches are supported with accurate, polished, and on-brand web experiences.

  • The overall website experience becomes clearer, faster to update, and more commercially effective.
