Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor web offset printing press equipment for production runs.
  • Review and interpret job tickets, production schedules, and customer specifications.
  • Adjust press settings to maintain proper color registration, ink density, print quality, and overall press performance.
  • Perform make-readies, changeovers, and job transitions efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor print quality throughout production and make adjustments as necessary to maintain customer specifications.
  • Inspect printed materials for defects including color variation, registration, streaking, hickeys, and other quality concerns.
  • Troubleshoot press issues and make necessary mechanical or operational adjustments.
  • Work collaboratively with Press Assistants and Roll Tenders to maintain continuous production.
  • Monitor paper usage, ink levels, and other consumables while minimizing waste.
  • Complete required production documentation, quality checks, and press reports accurately.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and daily inspections on press equipment.
  • Communicate equipment concerns or maintenance needs to leadership and maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and all established safety practices.
  • Train and mentor less experienced operators and press personnel as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
