Web Server Administrator

We are looking for a dedicated and technically minded Web Server Administrator to support the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of our web server infrastructure. In this hands-on role, you will focus on ensuring the secure and stable delivery of business-critical applications, administering and optimizing web platforms, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing security and performance improvements. You will work closely with infrastructure, application, and security teams to maintain a resilient and efficient hosting environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain NGINX / Microsoft IIS / Apache Tomcat environments
• Monitor web server availability, performance and security
• Monitor and manage web platform lifecycle, including upgrades, patching and decommissioning activities
• Configure SSL/TLS certificates and web server settings
• Implement and maintain automated operational processes using scripting and automation tools
• Support deployment and operation of business-critical web applications
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and connectivity issues
• Participate in incident, problem and change management processes
• Assist with implementation of security hardening measures
• Support upgrades, migrations and lifecycle activities
• Maintain technical and operational documentation
• Collaborate with application owners, infrastructure teams and external service providers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or comparable experience
• Experience administering web server environments
• Knowledge of NGINX / Microsoft IIS / Apache Tomcat
• Understanding of HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, certificates and network fundamentals
• Basic knowledge of Windows Server environments
• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash or similar technologies
• Knowledge of web platform security hardening and remediation practices
• Experience working in incident, problem and change management processes
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with vulnerability management and patching processes
• Structured and service-oriented working style
• Experience supporting custom-developed operational tools and applications
• Experience in enterprise-scale web platform standardization initiatives
• Experience with Linux server administration

Language Requirements

• English: B2 or higher
• German language skills are considered a strong advantage
