Leads design, development, and maintenance of e-commerce and tourism systems using PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and HTML, ensuring security, UX, and compliance with local legislation.

Our client is seeking a suitable Web Systems Analyst in the E-Business Department based in Pretoria.

Responsibilities Lead and manage the design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of all E-Business systems within an open source environment (PHP, My SQL, Java Script, HTML etc.) according to relevant legislation and standards. Conduct feasibility study, work prioritisation and capacity planning for web projects and observe the software development life‑cycles (SDLC) from start to finish. Draw, implement and consistently enforce complete and thorough documentation within the E-Business environment. Coordinate all processes with internal and external stakeholders (tourism departments, hosting company, payment gateway, corporate bank, and corporate IT service provider) to define, document and deliver integrated E‑Commerce applications, components and strategies. Upgrade existing infrastructure and align all applications with new technology. Be responsible for online security and risk management. Enhance the user experience (UX) of all E‑Commerce systems. Serve as a contingency for Senior Web Developer in all hands – on programming. Enhance the site for search engine optimisation and assist with marketing the website online. Requirements BSc Computer Science, or related qualification 7-9 years Web Programming experience, 5 years of which were in PHP programming Linux Apache My SQL, PHP. Knowledge of the Consumer Protection Act, Electronic, Communications and Transaction Act. Knowledge of the Conservation and Tourism related legislation will be an added advantage. Web application development skills. Object orientated programming. Project management and leadership skills Database design and administration Communication skills (written & verbal) Attention to detail Analytical skills.
