Job Details:
- Location: Latam & Philippines remote.

About This Role:
- We are looking for a skilled Website Developer with strong experience in building custom WordPress themes (not block themes) from scratch, with additional experience working with Astro (astro.build).
- This role is ideal for someone who can code clean, scalable solutions, translate designs into responsive front-end builds, and work within WordPress’ theming and backend structure.
- You will play a key role in helping us move away from page builders (like Elementor) into fully custom-coded WordPress sites and support projects built using Astro.
- Since many of our tasks require quick turnaround, we are looking for someone efficient, responsive, and able to work independently without sacrificing quality.

Responsibilities:
- Building and maintaining custom WordPress themes (classic themes, not block themes).
- Developing and maintaining websites using Astro (astro.build), with source code stored in GitHub.
- Converting design files (Figma, Adobe XD) into functional WordPress and Astro sites.
- Writing clean, reusable, and scalable code in PHP, WordPress PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL.
- Working with CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap and Tailwind CSS.
- Using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and other plugins to extend functionality.
- Ensuring sites are responsive, cross-browser compatible, and SEO-friendly.
- Optimizing websites for speed, performance, and security.
- Debugging and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Using AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT as part of your development workflow.
- Managing tasks and tracking time within ClickUp (or similar PM tools).
- Communicating clearly with designers, project managers, and clients to ensure requirements are fully understood.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong front-end development skills with a solid understanding of back-end WordPress theming.
- Experience working with Astro (astro.build) or similar modern frameworks.
- Comfortable working in a WordPress PHP environment (custom loops, hooks, APIs, theme development).
- Comfortable working with GitHub.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT, and using them effectively in your development workflow.
- Efficient, responsive, and able to get things done quickly and independently without sacrificing quality.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, track time, and manage workload efficiently in ClickUp.
- Strong communication skills: asks clarifying questions, explains coding decisions clearly, and collaborates well with the team.
- Availability to work within Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours.
- Proven experience building custom WordPress themes (portfolio required).
- GitHub experience (required).
- Strong skills in PHP, WordPress PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL.
- Experience with ACF (Advanced Custom Fields).
- Familiarity with Bootstrap and Tailwind CSS frameworks.
- Understanding of website optimization and security best practices.
- Bonus: Experience with WooCommerce, React, or other modern tools.
