Meaningful hospice nursing. Flexible weekend opportunities. A team that has your back.

Our Lady of Peace is seeking experienced, compassionate Registered Nurses to join our community hospice team in a dedicated weekend on-call role.

This unique opportunity combines the flexibility of primarily remote telephone triage with the opportunity to provide hands-on nursing care when patient needs arise. You’ll be supported by an established hospice team, including a designated backup RN.

About the Role

The Weekend Hospice On-Call RN serves as the primary point of contact for hospice patients, families, and caregivers from Friday afternoon through Monday morning.

Working primarily from home, this nurse provides telephone triage, clinical guidance, symptom management support, and reassurance to patients and families. When an unexpected clinical need cannot be managed by phone, the on-call RN provides an in-person nursing visit. A designated on call physician and backup RN provide support for complex scenarios.

What We’re Looking For

? Current, unrestricted Minnesota Registered Nurse license.

? Minimum of two years of hospice or palliative care nursing experience strongly preferred, but not required.

? Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and independent decision-making skills.

? Confidence providing telephone triage, managing complex symptoms, and determining when in-person intervention is necessary.

? Excellent communication skills and a calm, compassionate approach to patients and families in distress.

? Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team.

? Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to patient locations within Our Lady of Peace’s 25 mile radius when needed.

? Proficiency with electronic medical records and remote communication technology.

Schedule and Compensation

? Weekend coverage: Friday at 4:00 PM through Monday at 8:00 AM.

? Flexible weekend rotation: Multiple positions available, with weekend schedules coordinated based on staffing needs and individual availability.

? Weekend stipend: $800 per assigned weekend for on-call availability and telephone triage responsibilities.

? In-person visits: Additional compensation at approximately $43-50/hour experience dependent for eligible visit and travel time.
