General Summary:
This position works under the direction of the Unit Director. Monitors and supervises functions of assigned team members. Assumes leadership role in management areas of the treatment team. Ensures care and supervision of patients on a 24-hour basis, meeting safety and health needs of patients and creating and maintaining a therapeutic environment. Provides a positive role model to patients and staff. Functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary team. Responsible for the overall monitoring of the house/school systems on weekends. Required shifts: Saturday/Sunday 12 hours each day, plus an additional 5 hours during the week to follow up on agency responsibilities and to discuss any staffing issues with supervisor or HR. This is a safety sensitive position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises and evaluates the ratio needs of each house on campus. Makes decisions with regard to any staffing changes that need to occur on campus for the stability of safety and campus coverage needs and supervises weekend direct care team members in all houses.
- Trains team in areas such as CPR, First Aid, CPI, etc. as needed. Ensures proper appropriate documentation of such is provided/entered for each participant in a timely manner. Must become CPI and CPR/First Aid instructor within 6 months of assuming the position or as required classes are available.
- Ensures the coordination and documentation of all information regarding patient behavior, level of functions, emotional status, and current team member interventions.
- Watch and log any incidents during the weekend and discuss any needed follow up to the house Unit Manager and the Training Director.
- Walk through in all houses PRTF/QRTP throughout the shift. Responding to all client crises, communicating with on-call therapist, nursing staff, or administrator for any identified needs.
- Addresses any inappropriate team members behavior, utilizing house video to determine any needed disciplinary action or staff retraining needs. Report concerns to supervisor and Chief Clinical Officer.
- Completes debriefings as needed.
- Completes on-call reports.
- Conducts periodic video spot-checks of all shifts.
- Ensures Trauma Informed Care (TIC) is used with all team member interactions. Provide ongoing staff training in trauma informed care, crisis prevention, de-escalation and restraint procedures. During incidents, provide constructive feedback and direction and note any retraining needs to Training Director.
