Welder

Responsibilities

• Under limited supervision and minimal technical guidance, positions material to be welded and applies hand-eye coordination to achieve the desired weld
• Emphasis is on ability to perform TIG welding of thin gauge stainless steel sheet and tubing
• Position, align, fit, and weld parts by following blueprints and layout specifications
• Inspects completed items for quality assurance

Skills and Specifications

• Ability to use welding techniques such as arc welding using a wire feeder
• Able to follow blueprints and other drawings
• Able to read a tape measure
• TIG welding experience with stainless steel sheet (18 -20 gauge) and tubing(.035-.062t)
• High School Diploma
• Vocational Schooling
• Must pass TIG welding practical test

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours per day
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to work in an area that is not climate controlled in the summer months
• Must be able to bend, stoop and reach on occasional basis
