Summary
Fabricates and assembles metal structures and products using welding machines, cutters, and measuring tools. Reads blueprints and specifications, sets up and maintains welding equipment, and repairs metal equipment and structures to specifications.
Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Welder is to fabricate and assemble metal structures and products through the use of welders, cutters, shapers, and measuring tools according to provided specifications. The Welder should also serve as a working team member and individual contributor to the overall team’s success.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use welding machines to assemble, repair, and maintain metal equipment and structures or various sizes
- Read and interpret diagrams, sketches, and blueprints to determine operations, required materials, and timeframes for projects
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding and cutting equipment
- Load and unload equipment and supplies as directed
- Clean and organize shop and other areas as required
- Adhere to applicable company and regulatory agency environmental, health and safety standards
