Welder-Level III

Overview: As a Welder-Level III you will specialize in welding thin gauge materials that are utilized in Aerospace and FAI (First Article Inspection) parts, structural assemblies, complex weldments, any non-conventional welding or cutting with extremely tight tolerance. As a welder-level III you are trusted with the most important parts and projects, including prototype welding. Required to take client specific trainings and certifications.
Key Responsibilities: (include but not limited to): Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:
- Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work order, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding
- Specialize in welding thin gauge materials, extremely tight tolerance welds, complex weldments and parts requiring extensive fixtures and weld jigs
- Weld separately or in combination, using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys
- Perform any non-conventional welding or cutting: FCAW (flux-cored arc welding), Oxy-Fuel cutting or welding/brazing, Plasma Cutting
- Check and maintain welding equipment for proper operation, safety and/or perform any needed maintenance.
- Pass and Maintain various welding certifications as necessary.
- Work with engineers and help establish a Prototype(s)
- Perform other jobs or functions assigned by manager
