Welder - Turnaround
Primary Responsibilities and Key Deliverables
- Perform GTAW (TIG), SMAW (Stick), and/or FCAW welding on carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe
- Read and interpret isometric drawings, spool sheets, and welding procedures
- Follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Fit-up and weld process piping systems
- Maintain weld quality in accordance with American Society of Mechanical Engineers, project specifications and applicable codes
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all company safety procedures and site-specific safety requirements
- Work with fitters, supervisors, and QA/QC personnel to complete projects efficiently
- Meet production schedules and quality standards
- Maintain welding qualifications and continuity records as required
- Work safely in a fabrication shop and/or field environment
Required Skills and Competencies
- Minimum 3–5 years of pipe welding experience preferred
- Must pass a pipe weld test (typically 6G)
- Experience with stainless steel, particularly titanium, and carbon steel piping
- Ability to weld Schedule 10 through heavy wall pipe
- Familiarity with American Society of Mechanical Engineers Section IX welding requirements preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and isometric drawings
- Reliable transportation and strong work ethic required
