Welding Inspector

Summary

On-site welding inspector ensuring pipeline and construction welds meet ADNOC and international codes, reviewing documentation, and reporting non-conformances in the oil & gas sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding inspections at project sites to ensure compliance with approved procedures, client specifications, applicable codes, and quality requirements.
  • Verify welding activities, including fit-up, welding parameters, consumables control, and visual inspection, in accordance with approved WPS/PQR and project requirements.
  • Inspect and monitor pipeline welding, tie-ins, spool fabrication, pipeline installation, and associated construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Monitor and witness various inspection and testing activities, including NDT, hydrotesting, and mechanical completion inspections.
  • Review and verify welding documentation, inspection reports, material certificates, welder qualifications, and quality records.
  • Identify, document, and report non-conformances, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions until closure.
  • Liaise with client representatives, contractors, subcontractors, and project teams on quality-related matters.
  • Ensure all inspection activities comply with ADNOC standards, international codes, and project-specific quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and provide daily, weekly, and final quality reports as required.
  • Promote adherence to HSE requirements and support a culture of quality and continuous improvement at the project site.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Engineering Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Welding Inspector within the Oil & Gas industry, including construction, pipeline projects, and source inspection activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in the inspection of cross-country pipelines, and related welding activities.
  • Valid CSWIP 3.1 or AWS-CWI.
  • ADNOC approval is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, NDT methods, international codes and standards (ASME, API, AWS, ISO, etc.).
  • Proficient in reviewing quality documentation, inspection reports, and welding records.
  • Good communication and reporting skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and project teams.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Willingness to work at project sites and travel for source inspection assignments as required.

  • Duration: 4 to 6 months (maybe extended depending on the requirement)
