Job Title: Winchman
Job Hours: 6 Days, Shift-Work
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate winches and lifting gear to hoist, lower, and position cargo on vessels and at the port.
- Assist crane operators and signalmen by following hand signals or radio instructions during cargo operations.
- Secure cargo loads with ropes, chains, or slings to prevent accidents or damage.
- Monitor equipment performance and report mechanical faults or safety hazards immediately.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and Jurong Port’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support stevedoring teams in handling bulk, general, and containerized cargo.
Job Requirements:
- Proven ship crane, port crane or vessel cargo-crane experience.
- Experience in stevedoring, break-bulk, steel cargo, dry-bulk or heavy-lift operations preferred.
