Windows Systems Engineer – Endpoint Engineering
Our partner company, a leading global financial services firm, is looking for a Windows Systems Engineer to join its Endpoint Engineering team — responsible for designing, configuring, and integrating systems management solutions across a large, global Windows estate spanning both client and data center environments.
What you'll do
- Lead critical engineering and architecture initiatives aligned with enterprise technology strategy
- Engineer and sustain new and existing systems management technologies
- Ensure systems management products meet security, supportability, and performance requirements
- Own the end-user experience for internal client systems
- Create, review, and maintain technical and operational support documentation
- Provide engineering escalation support, troubleshoot issues, and identify root causes
- Share knowledge and best practices across the team
Requirements
What you'll bring
- 5–10 years of relevant experience
- Deep technical knowledge of Windows operating systems, up to and including Windows 11 and Server 2022
- Deep technical knowledge of Microsoft SCCM
- Desktop/laptop/server hardware knowledge and management in an enterprise environment
- Strong troubleshooting mindset (event log analysis, Sysinternals tools, memory dump analysis)
- Automation experience and PowerShell scripting skills
- Experience designing technical solutions for complex business requirements
- Ability to write technical/operational documentation (design docs, runbooks)
Nice to have
- Windows and application patching/servicing experience
- Knowledge of cloud services (Azure, AWS)
- Knowledge of Windows infrastructure (Active Directory, GPO)
- Experience with large-scale OS/software/patch deployment in globally distributed organizations
- Familiarity with third-party management tools (e.g. AppSense, Splunk)
- Experience with system lifecycle management
- Experience with security tooling for lifecycle management (decommissioning, disk hygiene)
