Wireless System Test and Integration engineer

Keysight Technologies in Lombardy, Italy, is seeking a capable Wireless System Test & Integration engineer to execute system-level and software validation tests for UE and Base Station emulation and to contribute to pre-6G capabilities as 3GPP evolves.

You will design, implement and automate test cases, develop scripts and frameworks, configure test environments, analyze results, and collaborate with R&D and cross-functional teams to improve product quality and customer experience.

Execute system-level and software validation tests for Keysight products, focusing on UE and Base Station emulation. Validate 3GPP protocol configurations across Layer 3 (RRC and NAS), Layer 2 (MAC, RLC, and PDCP), and Layer 1, while contributing to pre-6G capabilities as 3GPP standards evolve. Design, implement and automate test cases based on product requirements and customer use cases. Work closely with R&D 3GPP Protocol Development teams to integrate 5G and pre-6G features. Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts and test frameworks using different scripting languages. Set up, configure and maintain test environments, hardware systems and software applications. Analyze test results, investigate failures and assist in defect reproduction and reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional experts to align on feature implementation, reproduce field issues, debug complex behaviors and improve product quality and customer experience. Explore and evaluate AI-enabled tools and techniques to improve testing productivity and coverage. Contribute to documentation, test reports, and continuous improvement initiatives. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or related. Strong expertise in 3GPP LTE / NR protocols. Proficient in Python scripting. Experience with CI/CD, test frameworks, test automation tools, containers, and/or cloud-based environments. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong interest in software testing, automation and quality; familiarity with software development and debugging concepts. Ability to communicate effectively in English in a technical environment. Strong communication skills and proactive attitude. Experience working in a multi-site environment; ability to work independently and in a team. Familiarity with Git, JIRA, Wireshark, and Valgrind/Polaris is a plus.
