Womens Program Recovery Lead Case Manager
JOB Summary:
The Lead Case Manager – Women’s Program is a senior role within the Recovery Department, responsible for providing both direct client support and mentorship to fellow case managers. In addition to maintaining a caseload, this role ensures best practices are upheld across all case management activities, supports program development, and serves as a role model of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and gender-specific engagement. This position demands deep emotional intelligence, seasoned recovery knowledge, and the ability to foster operational excellence through leadership, collaboration, and care.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Trauma-Informed Case Management
- Build trusting, respectful, and empowering relationships with program participants rooted in empathy, cultural humility, and psychological safety.
- Complete strength-based, trauma-informed biopsychosocial assessments with special attention to histories of gender-based violence, parenting, complex trauma, and co-occurring disorders.
- Develop and monitor Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) with clearly defined goals that integrate recovery, housing, health, and personal growth.
- Conduct regular one-on-one case management sessions that foster healing, resilience, relapse prevention, and accountability.
- Utilize motivational interviewing, reflective listening, and harm reduction strategies in all engagement.
Advanced Trauma-Informed Case Management
- Maintain a small caseload of complex or high-acuity clients to ensure direct service practice is rooted in lived experience and evolving needs.
- Guide clients through assessment, service planning, navigation, and discharge with a trauma-informed, culturally humble approach.
- Lead crisis interventions with a focus on de-escalation and emotional regulation, modeling calm and compassionate leadership in high-stress situations.
Program Leadership & Collaboration
- Help cultivate a program culture that prioritizes emotional safety, dignity, consent, and choice.
- Co-facilitate psychoeducational groups on recovery, empowerment, boundaries, parenting, and wellness.
- Uphold program rules with consistency and compassion, helping participants repair ruptures and reflect on triggers.
- Contribute to continuous program improvement through feedback, documentation, and collaboration with supervisors.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Provide peer coaching and reflective supervision to Case Managers in the Women’s Program, supporting their professional development and accountability.
- Facilitate regular case conferencing to review complex cases, celebrate wins, and ensure fidelity to trauma-informed principles.
- Serve as a thought partner and support for staff experiencing vicarious trauma, moral injury, or burnout, modeling healthy boundaries and wellness.
- Partner with Manager of Recovery Programs to onboard and train new team members.
Program Quality & Compliance
- - Conduct periodic quality assurance checks of participant documentation, service plans, assessments, and progress notes.
- Identify service delivery gaps and participate in refining workflows, forms, and protocols to improve client outcomes and team functioning.
- Support data integrity within HMIS and internal databases; train staff as needed on documentation practices.
- Stay current on evolving standards from CCAPP, SAMHSA, LAHSA, and trauma-informed frameworks; ensure team application of best practices.
Intake, Orientation & Continuity of Care
- Oversee the intake, assessment, and orientation process to ensure consistency, empathy, and compliance.
- Provide support during high-volume periods to ensure timely onboarding of new participants.
- Ensure warm handoffs and multidisciplinary collaboration for seamless transitions in care.
Training & Professional Development
- - Facilitate or coordinate monthly skill-building sessions for program staff focused on trauma-informed care, harm reduction, gender-responsive strategies, and recovery principles.
- Provide feedback and performance input to the Manager of Recovery Programs for case management staff evaluations.
