Basic Statement of Responsibilities

The case manager helps food assistance recipients find jobs, get career training, and clear work hurdles. They build personal action plans, set up support funds like bus passes or work clothes, and track success. Serve as a career and personal advisor. You are tasked with helping food assistance recipients break through employment barriers to achieve financial self-sufficiency

Essential Functions


  • Customized Individual Employment Plans
  • Build step-by-step career and training paths.
  • Customized Individual Employment Plans outlining exact paths for vocational training, credential programs, or basic adult education
  • Allocate and manage state-funded financial resources for participant transit costs, required textbooks, specialized tools, and professional attire.
  • Arrange help for costs like transit or work gear.
  • Connect clients with external community networks to navigate mental health services, physical health restrictions, and childcare programs
  • Link people to local classes, adult education, and employers.
  • Secure relationships with area businesses
  • Monitor and verify that clients subject to federal work rules log their mandatory 80 hours per month of approved vocational activities.
  • Maintain data integrity protocols according to state privacy policies and FERPA restrictions regarding personal client

  • Support program goals and follow guidelines, procedures, and responsibilities
  • Maintain respect of students/classroom control and keep a professional persona
  • Plan ahead for all assigned duties.
  • React to immediate and changing needs of students and supervisors.
  • Provide suggestions for improving program instruction and operating procedures.

Education, Experience, and Specialized Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Preferred majors include, social work, psychology, counseling, sociology, human services, criminal justice.
  • Knowledge of adult student characteristics.
  • Computer & technical competency.
  • Ability to organize data to produce student reports.
  • Ability to make decisions concerning student needs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge of and cultural sensitivity toward adult student population
  • Function within the administrative policies and procedures of the program.
  • Accept other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Attend all meetings and in-service training as needed.
  • Travel independently to fulfill the requirements of the position.
  • Adhere to ACM Staff Policies including, but not limited to: dress policy, tobacco and drug use, etc.)
