Workday Payroll Consultant

POSITION SUMMARY

The Workday Payroll Consultant partners with clients to design, implement, optimize, and support Workday Payroll solutions that align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and best practices. The role serves as a trusted advisor across the full payroll lifecycle, leading complex implementations, mentoring junior consultants, and supporting go-live and post-production activities.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead the implementation, configuration, and optimization of Workday Payroll solutions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll processing, compliance, and best practices.
  • Configure earnings, deductions, taxes, pay groups, calendars, and calculations.
  • Support payroll integrations with internal modules and third-party vendors.
  • Lead payroll testing activities including parallel payrolls and UAT.
  • Provide go-live and post-production payroll support.
  • Develop and deliver client training and documentation.
  • Mentor junior consultants and contribute to practice development.
  • Stay current with Workday Payroll releases and regulatory updates.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, HR, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of Workday Payroll experience including implementations.
  • Workday Payroll certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll compliance and controls.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Consulting experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel 10–20%.
