Introduction
We are seeking an experienced Workday US Payroll Lead to support enterprise-scale Workday implementations within a global professional services environment.
This consultant will lead Payroll workstreams, provide hands-on functional guidance, and partner directly with clients to design and deliver scalable Workday Payroll solutions. The ideal candidate combines recent end-to-end implementation experience with strong client leadership and deep knowledge of US Payroll requirements.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead Workday US Payroll workstreams across design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
- Partner with clients to understand business requirements, recommend Workday best practices, and deliver fit-for-purpose Payroll solutions.
- Provide functional leadership across payroll processing, taxation, garnishments, Common Pay Master, payroll accounting, retirement benefits, and union/CBA requirements.
- Work independently across multiple projects while maintaining proactive communication with clients, project leadership, and delivery teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recent end-to-end Workday US Payroll implementation experience, including an implementation completed within the past 2-3 years.
- Active Workday US Payroll certification with experience using Workday Launch or Launch Express methodology.
- Strong knowledge of US payroll regulatory requirements, including taxation, garnishments, Common Pay Master, payroll processing, and payroll accounting.
- Experience with retirement benefits, unions/collective bargaining agreements, or other complex payroll environments.
- Prior consulting experience supporting enterprise clients with strong client-facing communication and workstream leadership skills.
- Ability to work Eastern Time business hours, manage multiple projects, and communicate proactively across distributed teams.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience leading complex or enterprise-scale Workday Payroll implementations.
- Broader Workday experience across Absence, Time Tracking, Benefits, or related HCM functionality.
