Location: Houston, Texas. This position is primarily on-site, with limited hybrid or remote flexibility available for a strong candidate.

Note: Candidates must hold an active Texas attorney license and have 3+ years of directly relevant workers' compensation experience.

Job Description

  • Manage workers' compensation matters from intake through final resolution
  • Develop case strategy and evaluate claims, defenses, medical evidence, and exposure
  • Review and develop medical records and other supporting documentation
  • Handle negotiations and pursue effective settlement strategies
  • Prepare for and participate in workers' compensation hearings
  • Draft legal documents, correspondence, and case analyses
  • Advise clients regarding case developments, strategy, risk, and resolution
  • Manage deadlines and a portfolio of active matters efficiently
  • Work independently while collaborating with other attorneys and team members

Qualifications

  • Active Texas Bar license required
  • 3+ years of workers' compensation experience required
  • Demonstrated experience handling work-injury matters through hearings and settlement
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, writing, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to independently manage cases and competing deadlines
  • Strong client communication skills
  • Bilingual ability is a significant plus
  • More senior candidates are welcome to apply
