Job Description
- Manage a caseload of Florida workers' compensation matters from evaluation through resolution.
- Analyze claims, liability, exposure, and litigation strategy.
- Conduct legal research involving Florida workers' compensation statutes, regulations, and case law.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents.
- Prepare for and participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, pre-trial conferences, and other proceedings.
- Negotiate settlements and develop effective strategies for resolving claims.
- Advise clients regarding case strategy, exposure, risk, and developments.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients, attorneys, and support staff.
- Manage deadlines and case files while handling a busy litigation caseload.
- Collaborate with colleagues to prepare cases and deliver strong outcomes for clients.
Qualifications
- Florida Bar license in good standing.
- 2+ years of workers' compensation law experience.
- Knowledge of Florida workers' compensation laws and procedures.
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
- Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence.
- Experience with depositions, mediations, hearings, negotiations, or other litigation proceedings.
- Strong organization and case-management skills.
- Excellent communication and client-service abilities.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Ability to work on-site in Orlando.
